Our Expertise
My name is Dr. Shavkat Ruziev, the founder and physician of Modern Medicine. Before transitioning into private practice I spent 15 years practicing internal medicine, critical care, and outpatient medicine, as well as serving as a hospitalist for institutions such as UPMC Pinnacle, WellSpan, and St. Luke's University Health Network. For three of those years, I dedicated myself to treating patients for weight loss and performing aesthetics procedures. Since I began practicing medicine, my core interests have always been preventive medicine, lifestyle modifications, weight loss, and aesthetics, which ultimately led to me creating Modern Medicine.
I believe healthcare should be provided in a comprehensive and holistic manner to treat the mind, body, and soul. In accordance with this philosophy, I provide an integrative approach to combining both Western and complementary medicine in my practice.
